Looking into first cruise (Alaska)
Feb 11, 2016, 2:20 PM
Hi. I am starting to research possibilities for an intergenerational family vacation for this summer. We would be me (40 something), my two boys (15 and 12), my brother and his wife (30 somethings) and my Dad (turning 70). We were looking into the idea of taking an Alaska cruise. I am a bit overwhelmed by all of the options out there. I would love to hear what people would recommend for our group. We are not Disney people, so as much as those seem to get rave reviews, I don't think we'd have many takers.
Our needs would include: a cabin that would be comfortable for myself and my two boys--or adjoining cabins so they could have their own space connected to mine; not too much in the way of formal or dress-up nights; some kind of tween/teen lounge, good food, fairly all-inclusive (don't really want to spend a lot and then be asked to pay for a lot more on board), and inside passage (if that is really the way to go--sounds like it is). We are thinking 1 week in late July.
TIA for any suggestions for us. We would be flying out of Chicago
